iPhone timelapse video.

I have just downloaded a fantastic app for my iPhone called iTimeLapse (iTunes link). Had to give it a try and had a good opportunity today when I had to change some gobo’s on our Martin Mac 250 Krypton moving heads. Anyway the app works very well indeed with lots of resolution choices, framerate, capture time, the lit goes on. They even give you a selection of free music to add to you video! I have to say the app works well on my 3G so should work well on the 3GS.

New Kidrobot figure
Posted by Michael Vermaak | Filed under Photography
When I was in South Africa we visited the Victoria and Albert Waterfront. There I found a stall inside the shopping mall which sold Kidrobot figures. As I have a Tokyo Plastic Geisha Drummer I decided that I would start a collection from that point forward as seeing them in the flesh for the first time got me hooked! I decided to get a Fatcap doll.
Once again as with the picture of the TP doll I put the camera on a tripod set the camera to manual and started to take some test shots. I find having the room almost completely dark and using my iPhone with a torch app works best. For this Photo I had to go with a 20 second exposure making sure I lit the Fatcap from every angle without getting the phone in the shot. Also if you do this you’ll have to set your focus to manual as you have to get the light really close to make sure it’s in focus. When I start the shot I don’t have any light on the subject and if it was set to auto focus the camera would not see anything and not take the shot. I also have my camera plugged into my laptop and take the shots using canons EOS utility as this way I don’t touch the camera and cause blur plus I can preview the shots straight away on my laptop screen.
If you go the V&A check out the stall from Toitoy. As I said above, it’s nice to see the figures in the flesh and checking them out next to each other as well.

We have been back a few days now from spending 2 weeks in South Africa. We based ourselves just outside of Hermanus in a little town called Vermont. Most of the time was spend either sitting relaxing in and around the house or in the car heading out to see some animals or to have some food or drink. Nothing over the top Just a bit of a chill out.
So here are a few shots from our time down there. Hope you enjoy.
